Sometimes I get into a creative funk.
Lately, this has been happening a lot. My show season has been underwhelming and the drive to create for me directly stems from the response to my work.
I took some gambles this year, trying out new cities, and types of shows. This risk has turned into a regret. Between new shows and feeling invisible online I am trying to claw my way out of this creative slump.
My go to when I get in such a state is to look at vintage Halloween. These gals, inspired by vintage Halloween, have come from my current creative funk. I have also included some of the inspirational photos that I came across while I was trying to work this idea out.
My next show is the World Oddities Expo in Cleveland, OH, June 1st. Then I will be back to a old favorite show of mine, the Allentown art Festival in Buffalo, NY, June 8th and 9th. I have not done this show since 2019 and I am going into it cautiously optimistic.
This year has been a weird one and suspect it will only get more strange.
